Discover Lotek & Gado-Gado Bu Ning꧋ꦭꦺꦴꦠꦺꦏ꧀&ꦒꦣꦺꦴꦒꦣꦺꦴꦧꦸꦤꦶꦁ

Lotek & Gado-Gado Bu Ning꧋ꦭꦺꦴꦠꦺꦏ꧀&ꦒꦣꦺꦴꦒꦣꦺꦴꦧꦸꦤꦶꦁ, located at Gg. Pronocitro No.719, Wirogunan, Kec. Mergangsan, Kota Yogyakarta, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, is a hidden gem in the heart of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A small but inviting spot, this diner specializes in traditional Indonesian street food, with a particular focus on two beloved dishes: lotek and gado-gado. Both of these Indonesian salads are a fantastic combination of fresh vegetables, rice cakes, tofu, tempeh, and a rich, savory peanut sauce that brings it all together.

The moment you step into the restaurant, you’re greeted by the delightful smell of freshly prepared food and the bustling energy of a place loved by locals. One of the things that really sets Lotek & Gado-Gado Bu Ning apart is the authenticity of its offerings. The lotek is a classic dish made from an assortment of vegetables, including spinach, long beans, cabbage, and sprouts, paired with crispy fried tempeh and rice cakes, all dressed in a thick and fragrant peanut sauce. The flavor profile is a delightful balance of savory, sweet, and a slight hint of spice, which makes each bite a treat.

What’s even better is that the peanut sauce, which is the heart and soul of these dishes, is made fresh daily. The texture is smooth but not too heavy, coating the vegetables and tofu with just the right amount of richness. It’s a perfect blend of sweet and salty with a little kick from chili that keeps you coming back for more. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, the flavor is consistently top-notch.

Gado-gado, another staple of Indonesian cuisine, is similarly a mix of vibrant vegetables, boiled eggs, and crispy crackers, all enveloped in that irresistible peanut sauce. What makes the gado-gado here special is the attention to detail. The vegetables are always fresh, the eggs are perfectly boiled, and the tofu and tempeh add the perfect amount of texture to the dish. You won’t find overly soggy vegetables here; they are just the right amount of tender, making each bite an enjoyable experience.

Beyond the fantastic food, what really makes Lotek & Gado-Gado Bu Ning stand out is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure you feel at home the moment you sit down. They are happy to explain the menu if you're unfamiliar with any of the dishes, and the owner often pops by to chat with regulars, making the entire experience feel more like a family gathering than just a meal out.

The restaurant’s location is also worth mentioning. Nestled in the Wirogunan area of Yogyakarta, it’s easy to find but still maintains that cozy, local vibe. It's a perfect spot for both tourists looking to experience authentic Indonesian flavors and locals who come here for the comfort of familiar tastes.

If you're a fan of traditional Indonesian food, this place should be at the top of your list. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty lunch or a light dinner, the lotek and gado-gado here will satisfy your cravings. And with its warm ambiance and delicious, freshly made dishes, it’s clear why Lotek & Gado-Gado Bu Ning has such a loyal following. It’s a small spot with big flavors, and it’s no surprise that it’s become a local favorite. So, next time you’re in Yogyakarta, be sure to make a stop here-you won't be disappointed.

  • Fair taste, not so large portion, with price becomes quite high if you want added items such as egg or corn fritter (bakwan).

  • Always enjoy her Gado-Gado since my youth. Taste and freshness of the vegetables is still the same. The peanuts souce which made by hand on the spot is the best. For a crispy texture, I ask her to mix the plate with Bakwan.

  • This place serves lotek and gado-gado, a traditional indonesian vegetables salad with sambal kacang (spicy peanut sauce). The place itself is comfortable, with a lot of seatings available. Parking spaces is available both for cars and motorcycles. For me, their sambal is a little bit too sweet to my liking. Maybe if they decrease the amount of sugar a little bit, it'll be perfect.

  • Authentic taste for lotek and gado gado. Sure a big portion for me. Fresh vegetables. All the drinks are very refreshing and real. Es gulas and es cendol are my favorite. Sure will go back there again.

    Antya Sulistyo
  • It's legendary veggie salad, but not accepted fintech

  • Great local restaurant. The Lotek is really good and all freshly made. The wait can be long as each sauce is made separately.

    Lodewijk Alblas
  • Cozy place for breakfast. Range of vegetarian dishes (traditional veggies salad with peanut sauce). I bought lotek and it turns out too sweet almost like rujak sauce. Maybe you can order it less sugary.
